Director Scientific Software Training
To be responsible for the delivery of training based on Pharsight’s software products and associated PK/PD scientific expertise, thereby ensuring that Customers are knowledgeable about the use of Pharsight software products, how best to apply them, and how to interpret the results generated from their application.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set operational goals and structure to ensure excellent productivity and profitability of the Pharsight training enterprise;
- Manage a team of software/scientific trainers, ensuring that performance metrics/ objectives are set and achieved;
- Oversee the scheduling of (a) public training courses and (b) customized training engagements at customer sites;
- Develop and deploy a team of subject matter experts capable of delivering customized, on-site, applications training (e.g. advanced PK/PD modeling and simulation, IVIVC modeling, clinical trial simulation, etc.);
- Coordinate with Pre-Sales, Sales, Deployment and Software R&D to optimize systems and schedules for the efficient delivery of customer training;
- Coordinate with Marketing to ensure that appropriate scientific trade shows/conferences have adequate support for the demonstration and/or training of software products;
- When required, conduct classes in the use and application of Pharsight software;
- Hire staff as appropriate to meet revenue plans and company growth expectations;
- Ensure that up-to-date training materials for existing courses are maintained;
- Oversee the development of new training materials for new software products;
- Provide feedback from training activities to other Pharsight departments as appropriate;
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Experienced in the development and delivery of training courses for scientific software and their applications.
Education and Training
- Masters, PhD or PharmD in a specialty area such as computer science, computational science, chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences;
- Minimum three years of experience in providing training on advanced scientific software and their applications;
- One year of experience in team management
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- Broad knowledge of Pharsight software and applications;
- Experienced in the design and deployment of on-line (web-based) training methods;
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional appearance and presentation.
Work Experience
- Prior experience in teaching or training is essential;
- Experience with applications of PK/PD analysis, modeling and simulation methods is desirable.
