Inside Sales Representative (Munich, Germany)

Position Description:
The successful inside sales candidate will be responsible for driving new business through the sale of Pharsight’s Portfolio of Software Products in European markets. In this role, the Inside salesperson will display exemplary customer service and meet the needs of new and existing clients. The Inside Sales position is focused on making out bound calls to identify new sales opportunities within their customer set, generating revenue by driving these opportunities through the sell cycle to closure, and developing qualified leads for outside sales representatives. Ideal candidates will possess a strong sales aptitude with a willingness to perform sales campaigns with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

These responsibilities include the following activities:

  • Meet/exceed quota by booking new software deals
  • Respond to inquires by customers and company staff on license issues
  • Develop relationships with new clients and decision makers including PhD scientists, MD’s, IT and senior management teams in Pre-Clinical, Clinical, and Formulation departments
  • Develop productive relationships in all departments in the drug development life cycle from formulations to Phase 4 in order to maximize revenue from all Pharsight software products and services
  • Accurately record all client communications and opportunity updates in sales force automation system (SalesForce.com).  Accurately update forecast on a weekly basis and build a rolling pipeline of 2.5X software quota
  • Gather market intelligence and relay to senior management in order to improve offerings and communication for local market needs

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Statistics, or other related discipline
  • 1-3 years of successful sales experience, preferably within high-tech or pharmaceutical industry.  Knowledge of PK/PD a plus
  • A proven history of meeting quota in a sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbally and written
  • Fluency in German and English required. Other languages a plus
  • Prior experience interfacing with pre-sales scientists, direct sales reps, product development and a variety of customer departments or representatives
  • Self-motivated professional with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of salesforce.com and/or database experience with equivalent systems
  • Ability to manage bookings forecasts to reliable and timely closure
  • Must be able to multitask and have strong organizational skills
